Are you planning a vacation abroad and looking for the best destination in the world? This can be your choice!
Spain has just been named the safest, cleanest and cheapest place in the world for tourists, according to the World Economic Forum in the annual report on Travel and Tourism Competitiveness released earlier this week.
The report released every two years compares the tourism sector in 136 countries around the world.
According to a statement accompanying the report, it aims to measure the factors and policies of a country that enable sustainable development of the travel and tourism sector, which will contribute to the development and competitiveness of a country.
Other factors such as security, access to technology, infrastructure and natural resources also play a role in the ranking of countries.
Spain is top of the list because it prioritizes its tourism industry. The country scores highly for air transport, tourism services, cultural resources (things like museums, stately homes and popular attractions) and business trips.
Second place is France. This country excels in cultural resources, ports and basic infrastructure.
Germany is third, which has a high score in terms of health and hygiene. Furthermore, at number four and five were occupied by Japan and Britain.
Indonesia ranks 42 of 136 countries in the list. While the countries that are in the last place, or the worst destination countries, fall in Yemen.
